Mongols and Aztecs Political
The mongolian empire was interesting because it was a meritocracy, or a government based on your merits. This meant you didn't get to rule by divine right, but by what you have contributed to the society. This set their Empire apart from every other empire. They probally ruled this way because Genghis Khan was not a noble man his whole life. His father was close to being a Khan, but the neighboring country assasinated him. So he had to grow up from a peasant, all the way to a Khan. Because of revenge the Mongol Empire was so large, that the mongol people didn't rule over everywhere they conquered. Instead, they left certain people in charge, with the threat that they will die if they rebel. Besides this large disadvantage, an advantage of having this large empire was the silk road. The Mongols controlled much of the silk road, and because of this, they made it safe for people to get from Europe, all the way to China, shown by Marco Polo.
The Aztecs were different from the Mongols in their political affairs. They believed in a form of Divine right, so the family of the king ruled when he died. So if the next king in line was not going to be good, he was still kinged. Unlike the Mongols, the Aztecs had a smaller empire based in central america. This was easier to control, and they had no rebelions because the kings had direct control of the military. The Political aspects of the Mongol and Aztec Empires were very different. However, they were still empires looking to conquer new territory's.
